The traditional working capital management model, lacking an overall perspective, is somewhat outdated and cannot keep up with the rapid development pace of modern enterprises. The supply chain closely integrates enterprises with upstream suppliers and downstream customers to form a closed loop. Therefore, integrating supply chain management concepts into working capital management has become a new research direction. Taking Y company, a leading enterprise in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry, as an example, this paper reclassifies working capital management according to the supply chain into working capital management in the procurement stage, working capital management in the production stage, and working capital management in the sales stage. It evaluates the performance of its working capital management, analyzes the problems existing in its working capital management, and proposes targeted optimization measures, aiming to provide assistance for enterprises in China's pharmaceutical manufacturing industry to improve the efficiency of working capital management.
