As the core driving force of the fourth industrial revolution, the new generation of generative artificial intelligence represented by ChatGPT has ' destructively ' entered the workplace and changed the way employees work. It is of practical significance to explore the content and form of its impact on job crafting. Based on the job demand resource model, this study constructs a theoretical framework for the impact of workplace big language model application on job crafting. The study finds that generative artificial intelligence can trigger employee-driven job crafting by improving employee self-efficacy, and increase employee insecurity to trigger employee defensive job crafting. The results of this study broaden the relevant research in the field of generative artificial intelligence and employee job crafting, and look forward to the future research direction on the basis of the limitations and shortcomings of the current model.
